Spanish cooking offers a valuable resource for creating culture-based contexts for language use, developing, in the same process, communicative and intercultural skills.

Gastronomy provides an effective, inexhaustible means of introducing students to a “taste” of authentic culture: for example “la sobremesa”, the benefits of which extend far beyond enjoyment of the food consumed and provide us with invaluable social activity.

Cookele is an affective and dynamic environment designed to promote the creativity and collaborative learning by means of the experience of a real-world activity. Cookele comprises a functional kitchen for 12 people, a cosy and welcoming dining room, and a chilling out patio to provide the affective relationship required for motivation and learning.

These are the ingredients of this succulent ELE teaching-learning recipe which is irresistible for the students:

  1. Use the workshop as a teaching strategy: learning by doing.
  2. Create a different space to achieve a real-world activity such as cooking.
  3. Make use of the sensory experience for lifelong learning.
  4. Enhance the motivation of students to participate in our culture, from a language perspective, in a relaxed, trustworthy and family atmosphere, just as in the “sobremesa”.

Our workshops

For Spanish students from A2+ level ( according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and world travelers who wish to delve into our culture through the 5 senses.

Learn Spanish while Cooking local gastronomy dishes from Granada and traditional Andalusian recipes. Let yourserf be carried away by the taste of the authentic in a charm atmosphere in the best company.

Each workshop lasts three hours from Mondays to Fridays – mornings from 12:00 to 15:00 and evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 (from June to July) and from 11:00h to 14:00h or from 17:00h to 20:00h (from September to May). August is closed for holidays.

Passionate cook and ELE teacher with experience on both fields to make our workshops an unforgetable experience.

Director and Producer at the international theatre company ymedioteatro.
Widely experienced on group dynamics and theatre technics which will help the participants to act with spontaneity letting the conversation flow.
